Dear Parkway Youth Hockey Members -

On behalf of the Board of Parkway Youth Hockey we hope you and your families are having a successful and enjoyable 2014-2015 season.  Between the weekly travel, practices and related activities the youth hockey season provides both challenges and rewards and we appreciate your continued support of the program and our teams.

The Board wanted to take this opportunity especially for our newer members to highlight some upcoming items so you can plan accordingly for the remainder of the season:

     -    For the travel programs several levels have been involved in state play down games over the past few weeks. These will determine the District #1 participants for the state-wide Mass Hockey tournaments later this season. Also, later in the season both the Valley League and the South Shore Conference will have league playoff games.

     -   The Board will soon schedule and publish registration and try out dates for next season’s (2015-2016) travel teams. We ask you to check the web site beginning in mid-February for additional news related to try outs. Please note, families must remit any outstanding balances currently owed to PYH in order to participate in league playoff games and to register children for try outs.  Additionally, as last year, children will not be rostered to a team for next season if any balance remains outstanding subsequent to try outs.

Currently approximately $60,000 remains outstanding to PYH in travel and house program fees for this season. Like you, PYH must meet its monthly expenses in order to operate successfully. These expenses include ice costs, skills sessions and league fees. We appreciate your cooperation in this regard.

     -   House programs (Learn to Skate, Instructional and Mite House) will conclude on the weekend of March 7 & 8, 2015. We want to thank the program coordinators and volunteers who make these programs a success each year.

If you have any questions, please contact us.  Thank you!
